Mathematical ReasoningNegating a statement means menyangkal or menidakkan a statement. Example Statement: If x = 2, then x3 is equal to 8. Negating the statement will be: If x = 2, then x3 is not equal to 8. The truth value of the statement will change if we negate it. In the above example, it changes from true to false. For a statement "If p, then q", its converse will be: "If q, then p". Example: If x = 2, then x3= 8. The converse of the above statement is: "If x3= 8, then x = 2." Labels: Topics |
